"Judge, Jury, Executioner"
We open with Daryl administering a beating to Randall in the barn. He confesses that his group is about 30 strong with more firepower and less respect for women. Confirming that keeping Randall alive is just stupid. When Daryl forwards the information, Rick announces Randall needs to die. Dale vehemently objects and lobbys on the side of the angels. They give it until sundown before making a final decision.
To recap, Randall could have been left to die in town. He could have been killed 18 miles from the farm. Instead he's being given another chance to avoid death if Dale can sway any opinion. Rick's quick decision to kill Dave and Tony has proven to be justified yet his continued reluctance to eliminate Randall is baffling.
Andrea and Shane commiserate when Shane suggests a coup. She is unsure about the move. Carl has snuck into the loft and catches Randall eavesdropping on Andrea and Shane. When spotted, Randall tries to coax Carl into helping him but Shane bursts in. With his gun to Randall's mouth, Shane only relents at Andrea's insistence.
Carol is taken aback when Carl tells her it's stupid to believe in Heaven. When Rick confronts him about this, Carl turns it back on him and asks how he intends to kill Randall. Rick spouts his usual platitudes and we're supposed to believe they matter. Dale finds Hershel and continues to lobby on behalf of Randall but everyone is content to leave it for Rick to decide. Because he's been so good at making decisions since they left Atlanta.
Carl inspects Daryl's hog and finds a gun in the saddlebag. He heads into the woods where he confronts a zombie. One that is conveniently stuck in the mud next to a little stream. And by convenient, I mean ridiculously impossible especially given the Usain Bolt like quality of zombies TWD has unleashed.
It's meant to show us something about Carl. At this point, I don't care about Carl. Letting him die at the beginning of the season could have been a game changer:
Carl dies
Lori doesn't forgive Rick when Zombie Sophia is discovered.
Shane kills Rick, takes Lori and TWD is interesting again.
But this Carl is turning into a prick. He gets close and teases the zombie and it frees a leg and scares the crap out of Carl. Didn't see that coming. Carl drops the gun and runs away. Great, now the zombies have guns too.
There's a big meeting in the house where debate goes on about Randall and Dale pleads one more time. The more Dale talks the more I want him to die. He does point out rightly that Rick has screwed up handling Randall from the beginning. One more call for a floor vote and Dale runs his mouth AGAIN, (GOD PLEASE SHUT THE HELL UP) when suddenly Andrea takes his side. When the decision is made, Dale FINALLY leaves to go sulk.
Randall is blindfolded and marched into the barn and put on his knees by Rick, Shane and Daryl. When Carl walks in and gives Rick an evil "Do it" Rick's inner wuss takes over and suddenly Randall is "in custody". I really want Rick to die now too. Dale comes across a cow carcass in the field, an open field, a really wide and open field.
So Dale, who's been walking around with a g*ddam rifle slung around his shoulder for weeks, walks toward a dead thing in an open field (did I mention how open this field is?) and gets jumped a zombie without getting off a shot. Everyone comes running when he screams like a baby. Daryl gets there first and does the knife kill but too late to save Dale from getting chewed on.
Rick screams for Hershel to save him. What? SAVE HIM? HOW? Rick is an effing idiot. Rick is the worst leader ever. Daryl has to take out Dale because Rick is too much of a wuss still. Now Dale is dead, Randall isn't and Rick is just a horrible, awful, terrible person to follow in a zombie apocalypse. When Carl recognizes the zombie, he runs crying back to his mama. The Grimes Wussy Gene has been fully passed on.
GRADE: D
Hahaha! Awesome review. The kid is really getting on my nerves. He should have tried nailing the zombie in the head with those flimsy pebbles he was throwing. And don't you think that very stealth zombie should have been full after eating an entire cow??????
